Baker Compensator Sprocket for Harley-Davidson

BAKER Drivetrain offers the final solution to the late model compensator problems. The BAKER Drivetrain compensator sprocket is engineered with an annular oil distribution system that scavenges primary oil and pumps it with centrifugal force to all radial and axial thrust surfaces. English translation: This sprocket delivers quiet operation, relentless durability, and refined function to smooth out the inherent power pulsations of the second-generation Twin Cam and M8 motors.

Features:

  • Same 34T as stock, does not change primary ratio
  • Works with stock or aftermarket primary tensioners
  • Engineered for quiet operation and increased durability, less "clunking" than the stock compensator
  • Decreased compensating cam lobe diameter yielded a significant reduction in cam lobe velocities. With the reduction in cam lobe velocities, comes a reduction in wear.
  • Increased radial width of the compensating cam lobes reduced the P.S.I. loading which greatly extended the durability.
  • Seven supportive spokes structurally tie the sprocket ‘ring’ to the sprocket hub.
  • The mass of the sprocket is concentrated towards the center so the ‘flywheel effect’ is minimized which reduces N&V noises during operation and shut down.
  • Heat treated 4140 alloy steel construction.
  • Made in USA

Compensator Upgrade

I decided to do a Baker compensator upgrade and a Primary tensioner swap as well.Baker compensator out of the package looks Bullet proof.Very well designed and built to last.I removed the stock compensator and immediately noticed the difference in Craftsmanship.Installation was not Hard if your mechanically inclined just a little.I followed Fix my Hog video and did the process step by step according to the video.I also changed out the primary tensioner to a Manual tensioner.Immediately when I was removing the stock compensator you could feel and see the chain adjustment was so tight that while I was removing it the compensator was being pulled toward the clutch pack.I do recommend going to the manual tensioner.after all said and done Installation for me was very enjoyable and Fun.I love upgrading and working on my Bike.I did put some miles on it and so far it works perfect.I like the way it feels on start up and shut down. Also the shifting is smooth and Bike is running Flawlessly.Had another person ride it to the port to ship my Bike home and they had nothing but compliments about how well it ran and how comfortable my Bike is compared to there’s(2014 Fat boy)My Bike is a 2014 Street Glide special. The reason I decided to do the upgrade is My friend has a 2014 street glide with the Radiator etc all the bells and whistles and his compensator went out.We found out that the automatic tensioner as well has burn’t all the inner clutch hub bearings etc and cost home almost 3k to fix.So I took it as a learning lesson and changed mine out before it became a problem. All in all love the upgrade and looking forward to many miles and smiles.
