Check cold oil level. 2. Ride the bike until operating temperature is reached. 3. Shut the bike off while still in the upright position. (This insures an accurate reading)4. Once the bike is on the kickstand check oil level. 5. Add or remove oil as needed.

S&S Cam Chain Tensioners S&S ® TC3 oil pumps and cam support plates, for 1999-'16 HD ® big twins, are highly recommended for any cam installation, but they are a must if your engine has suffered even a minor problem that created metallic particles or debris. It's pretty easy to see if your oil pump has been chewed up by junk going through it, but it's pretty hard to know if there's still some of that stuff hiding in the oil passages of your cam support plate! Since 1980, we have performed extensive testing on crankshaft balancing and conducted vibration analysis. We have concluded that the most important unit of measure is runout at each main bearing race. Runout measured at the end of each shaft is a byproduct of those measurements.
